The JOY parts catalogue is a public discovery surface for automotive parts. It is organised around vehicle fitment evidence so a result set can be judged against a specific vehicle rather than a product title.
Discovery versus guaranteed fitment
A catalogue match is discovery. Guaranteed fitment depends on the exact vehicle configuration, including VIN or chassis context, model year, engine, drivetrain, market specification and OEM supersession history.
Where that evidence is incomplete, JOY returns “verification required” rather than implying a confirmed fit. Automated clients should carry that state through to the user instead of resolving it silently.
Why titles are not enough
Two parts can share a name, a picture and a price and still differ by a bracket, a connector or a revision that only applies from a given production date. Keyword search cannot see that difference; a fitment-aware catalogue can.
JOY therefore indexes OEM references, supersession chains and application data alongside the listing, so a match can be justified rather than merely returned.
From part to purchase
Retail buyers can move from a diagnosed need to a compatible part and delivery. Trade buyers can escalate the same vehicle context into an RFQ through Trade OS when a listed part is not the right commercial route.
