# Genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts: what to check

> Understand parts labels and compare manufacturer references, provenance, condition and fitment evidence. A buying guide in English and Bangla.

Before comparing price, establish what the seller is supplying. Brand, origin, condition and vehicle compatibility are separate questions; one label cannot answer all four.

## What does a genuine-parts claim mean?

A genuine-parts offer generally identifies a part sold under the vehicle manufacturer's brand. Ask which brand and exact reference will appear on the invoice and packaging, and what evidence supports the supply source. A familiar logo, a product photograph or a QR code by itself does not establish the origin of the item being supplied.

Ask whether the supporting material relates to the actual offered item or batch. A reference image, an unrelated certificate or the seller's description may help explain the offer, but is not a substitute for traceable item-specific evidence. Where evidence is incomplete, treat the claim as unverified.

## Does OEM always mean the same thing?

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer, but an offer needs more detail than those three letters. Ask who manufactured this part, which brand it is sold under, the exact product reference, and what original-equipment relationship is being claimed for that application.

A company can supply original equipment and sell aftermarket replacements. That does not establish that every product it sells is identical to the vehicle-brand item. Compare the specific catalogue reference and application, rather than assuming that a supplier name proves interchangeability or a particular production source.

## How should I compare an aftermarket alternative?

Aftermarket describes the replacement-parts market. An offered replacement may come from an original-equipment supplier or another manufacturer. Assess the named manufacturer, published specification, application information and warranty terms for that item. A broad label such as premium or OEM quality is not a specification.

Check condition separately: new, used, refurbished and remanufactured describe different offers. Ask what work or testing is documented for a previously used component and what is included in the sale. Do not infer new condition from a catalogue photo, or a manufacturer's warranty from a seller's authenticity label.

## What should two comparable quotations include?

Compare the exact brand and reference, stated condition, provenance evidence, vehicle application and exclusions, quantity or set contents, price, sourcing status and delivered cost. Ask who handles any warranty or return request and which terms apply to this order. A cheaper single component is not directly comparable with a complete set.

Keep the quote, invoice, packaging and correspondence. Inspect the received reference and visible condition before installation. If the item differs from the agreed offer, stop and ask JOY for review through the published support process. Do not install or continue using a part that appears unsafe.

Genuine বলা হলে সাধারণত গাড়ি প্রস্তুতকারকের ব্র্যান্ডে বিক্রি হওয়া পার্ট বোঝানো হয়। কোন ব্র্যান্ড ও পার্ট নম্বর ইনভয়েসে থাকবে এবং সরবরাহের উৎসের কী প্রমাণ আছে তা জিজ্ঞেস করুন। শুধু লোগো, প্যাকেটের ছবি বা QR কোড দেখেই হাতে পাওয়া পণ্যটি আসল ধরে নেবেন না।

OEM-এর পূর্ণরূপ Original Equipment Manufacturer। বিক্রেতা এই শব্দ দিয়ে কী দাবি করছেন তা পরিষ্কার করুন: প্রস্তুতকারক কে, কোন ব্র্যান্ডে পণ্যটি বিক্রি হচ্ছে, এবং এই নির্দিষ্ট রেফারেন্সের সঙ্গে মূল সরঞ্জাম সরবরাহের সম্পর্কের প্রমাণ কী? একই প্রতিষ্ঠান মূল সরঞ্জাম ও আফটারমার্কেট পার্ট তৈরি করলেও তার সব পণ্য অভিন্ন হয় না।

## ব্র্যান্ড, পণ্যের অবস্থা ও ফিটমেন্ট আলাদা করে দেখুন

Aftermarket হলো মেরামত ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণের জন্য রিপ্লেসমেন্ট পার্টের বাজার। নির্দিষ্ট প্রস্তুতকারক, স্পেসিফিকেশন, গাড়ির প্রয়োগসংক্রান্ত তথ্য এবং ওই পণ্যের ওয়ারেন্টির শর্ত মিলিয়ে দেখুন। Premium বা OEM quality লেখা একা কোনো নির্দিষ্ট স্পেসিফিকেশন নয়।

পণ্যটি নতুন, ব্যবহৃত, refurbished না remanufactured তা আলাদা করে জানুন। আগে ব্যবহৃত পার্টে কী কাজ বা পরীক্ষা করা হয়েছে তার নথি চাইতে পারেন। পার্ট আসল হওয়ার প্রমাণ থাকলেও সেটি আপনার গাড়িতে ফিট হবে এমন নিশ্চয়তা হয় না; ফিটমেন্টের প্রমাণও আলাদা করে দরকার।

## দুটি দাম তুলনার আগে কী মিলাবেন?

একই ব্র্যান্ড ও রেফারেন্স, পণ্যের অবস্থা, প্রমাণ, গাড়ির স্পেসিফিকেশন, প্যাকেটের পরিমাণ, সরবরাহের অবস্থা ও ডেলিভারিসহ মোট খরচ তুলনা করুন। একটি পিসের সঙ্গে পুরো সেটের দাম সরাসরি তুলনা করবেন না। ওয়ারেন্টি বা রিটার্নের অনুরোধ কে দেখবেন এবং কোন শর্ত প্রযোজ্য তা লিখিতভাবে নিন।

হাতে পাওয়ার পর নম্বর, পরিমাণ ও দৃশ্যমান অবস্থা পরীক্ষা করুন। অর্ডারের সঙ্গে না মিললে ইনভয়েস, প্যাকেট ও ছবি রেখে JOY-এর সাপোর্টে জানান। অনিরাপদ মনে হলে পার্টটি লাগাবেন না বা ব্যবহার চালিয়ে যাবেন না।
